Local Businesses and Residents Selling/Donating Excess and Vacant Temporary Housing Units to Disaster Areas in United States

McKenzie County, ND— Local McKenzie County business owners and residents are helping in disaster relief efforts in Texas  by selling and donating excess vacant housing units to interested parties serving the citizens in the stricken area who have need of temporary housing.

McKenzie County Code Enforcement Officer, Jennifer Peglau, says it’s a win for the County and for the citizens affected by the hurricanes. “We have made great strides in the last year to clean up the unauthorized workforce housing. Now there is an opportunity to turn those vacant and unused housing units into a blessing for those who have lost their homes.”

Those who have temporary housing units and are interested in helping the residents of the Houston area and potentially Florida, are invited to contact Officer Peglau for contact information. Her number is 701-444-7422.

My fiancé and I bought 5.2 acres here and have built a house…our business is doing well. We can't imagine leaving our friends we've made here. It's one of the most welcoming communities I've ever moved to.
